As many of you know, Malcom Price Laboratory School is having to close. This is a tremendous loss for students, teachers, and families who are affiliated with this school. Because of their location many of the students live in our Lincoln attendance area. During guidance one of the topics being discussed has been on understanding differences and how we treat people from different backgrounds. I had the great opportunity to give tours this past Friday to Price Lab families who are thinking about enrolling at Lincoln. As we were on the tours, many of our students recognized these families as neighbors, t-ball buddies, and friends. There were hugs and smiles shared between our Price Lab neighbors and our Lincoln Tigers. It was a heart warming experience for me. I hope we can all continue to support these families during their transition and open our doors to welcome them to our Lincoln Family. Our biggest connection is living in this amazing Cedar Falls community, and I truly believe we all want what is best for our kids. I am looking forward to meeting more families on April 10th as we host an Open House for prospective students and their families. I will be working with our Leadership groups, Lincoln students, as well as in-coming Price Lab students during this transition.
